Scope

GB/T 20487-2018 is the English-translated version of 城市火险气象等级.

GB/T 20487-2018 is the Chinese standard for grading urban fire-danger weather. It sets out the urban fire-danger weather levels, derived from the urban fire-danger weather index (UFWI), and how that index is determined.

It defines the terms the index is built on: urban fire danger, the urban fire-danger weather index, daily maximum air temperature, daily minimum relative humidity, daily maximum wind force and wind speed, the number of consecutive days without precipitation and daily precipitation amount.

Compared with the 2006 edition it removes ten terms, the abbreviations and the wind force and wind speed table, and merges the fire-danger meteorological factors into the determination of the index.

It applies to forecasting and assessing urban fire-danger weather levels. It replaces GB/T 20487-2006, was issued on 17 September 2018 and has applied since 1 April 2019.

--- Removed 10 terms and their definitions, namely. temperature (see 2.1.1 in 2006), relative humidity (see 2.1.3 in 2006), Wind speed (see 2.1.5 in 2006), wind (see 2.1.7 in 2006), precipitation (see 2.1.9 in 2006), precipitation (see 2.1.10 of the 2006 edition), urban fire hazard meteorological grade (see 2.1.15 of the 2006 edition), fire risk climate assessment (see 2006)

Version 2.1.16), short-term forecast of fire hazard meteorological grade (see 2.1.17 of 2006 edition), medium and long-term forecast of fire hazard meteorological grade (see Version 2.1.18 of the 2006 edition;

--- Redefining four terms, namely urban fire insurance (see 2.1, 2006 version 2.1.13), urban fire risk weather index (see 2.2, The 2006 version of 2.1.14), the daily maximum wind speed (see 2.6, 2006 version of 2.1.6), daily precipitation (see 2.8, 2006 edition) 2.1.11);

--- Removed the "abbreviations" (see 2.2 of the 2006 edition);

--- "City Fire Risk Meteorological Factor" (see Chapter 4 of the 2006 edition) "Determining the Urban Fire Risk Meteorological Index" (see 2006 edition)

Chapter 5) is merged into the "determination of the urban fire danger weather index" (see Chapter 4);

--- Removed the "wind level and wind speed comparison table" (see Appendix A of the 2006 version).
