Scope

GB/T 20090.13-2017 is the English-translated version of 信息技术 先进音视频编码 第13部分:视频工具集.

GB/T 20090.13-2017 is Part 13 of the Chinese AVS audio and video coding series and defines a library of video tools, one for each video compression algorithm of GB/T 20090.2-2013, with an informative example of building a decoder from them.

Each tool is identified by a tool number and a mnemonic and is described through seven elements.

The tools for the baseline profile include bitstream syntax parsing, inverse quantization, inverse transform, luma and chroma intra prediction, motion vector prediction and derivation in P_Skip, B_Skip, B_Direct and symmetric modes, luma and chroma block interpolation, macroblock reconstruction, inverse scan and reference frame caching.

Applications include digital terrestrial and cable television, broadband video services and remote video surveillance. It was issued on 29 December 2017 and has applied since 1 July 2018.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Video Tools

A processing unit characterized by input and output behavior.

3.2 Video tool set

Collection of video tools.

3.3 Video tool network

A network of connected video tools.

3.4 AVS video tool set

Contains a set of video tools for each compression algorithm in GB/T 20090.2-2013.

4 Resolution process
