GB/T 38548.3-2020 specifies the digital processing specifications for text, pictures, formulas, tables, audio and video content resources. Clause 1 states that this part applies to the digital processing of content resources.
It is the third part of GB/T 38548, which the foreword divides into six parts: Terminology, Collection methods, Processing specifications, Metadata, Quality Control and Application mode.

1 Scope
This part of GB/T 38548 specifies the digital processing specifications for text, pictures, formulas, tables, audio and video content resources. This section applies to digital processing of content resources.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Lossless compression
Remove or reduce redundant information in the data, but these redundant information can be re-inserted into the data. Lossless redundant compression is reversible process. [GB/T 31219.3-2014, definition 3.10]
3.2 Image resolution
The amount of information stored in an image can be measured in various ways.

4 Text processing
4.1 Text Processing Format
Suggested format for text processing.
a) Plain text content resources, the TXT file type should be used as the storage format;
b) Structured text content resources should use the XML file type as the storage format and follow the XML 1.0 and above specifications;
c) Fixed format content resources should be stored in PDF or CEBX file format. PDF files should follow PDF1.3 and above This specification;
