GB/T 19790.1-2021 is the English-translated version of 一次性筷子 第1部分：木筷.
GB/T 19790.1-2021 is the first part of the Chinese standard on disposable chopsticks, and it covers the wooden ones.

It replaces GB 19790.1-2005, was issued on 9 March 2021 and applies from the same date.

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting.
GB/T 19790 "Disposable Chopsticks" is divided into two parts.
---Part 1: Wooden chopsticks;
---Part 2: Bamboo chopsticks. This document is Part 1 of GB/T 19790.
This document replaces GB/T 19790.1-2005 "Disposable Chopsticks Part 1: Wooden Chopsticks", this document is in line with GB/T 19790.1-2005 In comparison, the main technical changes are as follows.
---Modified the scope (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2005 edition);
---Modified and added some terms and definitions (see Chapter 3, Chapter 3 of the.2005 edition);
---Modified the classification (see Chapter 4, Chapter 4 of the.2005 edition);
---Modified specifications, dimensions and tolerances (see 5.2, Chapter 4 of the.2005 edition);
---Revised the appearance quality (see 5.3, 5.3 of the.2005 edition);
--- Deleted microbial indicators (see 5.5 in the.2005 edition);

1 Scope
This document specifies the terms and definitions, classification, requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, identification, packaging, transportation and storage of disposable wooden chopsticks.
This document is applicable to the production, sales, supervision and inspection and circulation of disposable wooden chopsticks.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Conjoined jointpart
The uncut part of wooden chopsticks.
3.2 Separatepart
Cut the two separate parts along the center line of the length of the wooden chopsticks.
3.3 Middlefissure
The gap between the two splits of wooden chopsticks.
3.4 Front broadface
The wide noodle part of wooden chopsticks.
3.5 Side
The surface perpendicular to the front along the length of the wooden chopsticks.
3.6 Headend
The cross section at the widest part of the front.
