GB/T 19685-2017 covers prestressed concrete cylinder pipe (PCCP) with a nominal inner diameter from 400 mm to 4000 mm, for pipelines whose working pressure or static water head does not exceed 2.0 MPa.

It sets out the terms and main symbols, the classification into lined and embedded pipes with single or double rubber gasket joints, basic dimensions and product marking, and the raw and auxiliary materials: from cement and aggregates to prestressing wire, steel sheet and rubber gaskets.

It also covers pipe design and manufacture, fittings, test methods, inspection rules, marking, transport and storage, conditions of use and the factory certificate.

Such pipes serve water supply and drainage mains, irrigation, power plant cooling water systems, inverted siphons and pressure tunnels. It replaces GB/T 19685-2005, was issued on 9 March 2017 and has applied since 1 February 2018.
