GB/T 19668.5-2018 is the part of the Chinese information technology service supervision series that deals with software engineering projects. It describes what an independent supervision organization does for the owner at each stage: planning and design consulting, then tendering, design, implementation and acceptance.

For each stage it lists the supervision requirements, the service content and key points - from reviewing the bidding documents, the contract and the contractor's project plan to demand analysis, coding and testing, system deployment, trial operation and final inspection - and the documents to produce, such as the supervision plan, opinions and meeting minutes.

It defines terms including traceability, testability and ready-to-use software product. Annexes cover inspection records, support processes, control measures and document lists.

It replaces GB/T 19668.5-2007, was issued on 7 June 2018 and has applied since 1 January 2019.
