Scope
GB/T 19632-2023 is the English-translated version of 殡葬服务、设施、设备、用品分类与代码.
GB/T 19632-2023 gives the funeral sector a single classification and a numeric code for what it provides: services, facilities, equipment and supplies. The category clause sets out the classification method and the basis on which those four domains are divided; the coding clause gives the rules and the code structure, a five-digit code built from a major category digit, a medium category and a minor category, so a code can be read back to the class it came from. Four classification code tables then carry the classification itself, one for each domain, with terminology taken from GB/T 23287. Funeral provision in China is administered, funded and inspected across many authorities at once, and until the same cremation furnace or the same interment service is written down the same way in every register, statistics cannot be added together, procurement catalogues cannot be compared, and one information system cannot hand its records to another without someone re-keying them. This edition replaces the 2005 text, whose title named services, facilities and supplies without listing equipment as a domain of its own. Civil affairs administrations, funeral service providers, equipment and supplies manufacturers, and the people building sector information systems are the users.

Classification and coding of funeral services, facilities, equipment and supplies
1 Scope
This document specifies the classification, coding methods and classification code table for funeral services, facilities, equipment and supplies.
This document applies to information statistics and management of funeral services, facilities, equipment and supplies, as well as related information exchange and sharing.
