This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 19575-2004 "Technical Specifications for the Management of Agricultural Product Wholesale Markets". Compared with GB/T 19575-2004, except for... Aside from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

1 Scope

GB/T 19575-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering running a produce wholesale market - the layout and the cold chain facilities, the weighing and the settlement, the entry inspection and the quarantine, the traceability records and the waste handling of a place that moves thousands of tonnes a night. It replaces GB/T 19575-2004, a standard twenty-one years old, under the Ministry of Commerce. In force from 1 May 2026. Issued on 5 October 2025, it has been in force since 1 May 2026, replacing GB/T 19575-2004.

This document provides technical guidelines for the services of agricultural wholesale markets (hereinafter referred to as markets), including the operating environment, facilities and equipment, and business services. Service content. This document applies to markets that are applying for establishment or are in operation, and also to other types of markets that include wholesale trading activities of agricultural products. 3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 It provides both buyers and sellers with agricultural products and their primary processing, including vegetables, fruits, aquatic products, meat, eggs, grains and oils, condiments, edible fungi, and flowers. A place for wholesale trading of goods.

Note. It has comprehensive supporting service functions such as commodity distribution, pricing, quality inspection, information disclosure, warehousing and distribution, and e-commerce.

4 Business Environment

4.1 Market entrances should be kept clean and aesthetically pleasing, with all signs standardized and clear, and separate lanes for vehicles and pedestrians.

4.2 The ground inside the venue should be hardened, level, and clean, and should be easy to clean.

4.3 A prominent sign or plaque should be placed at the entrance of the trading area, indicating the categories of agricultural products being sold. The trading area should be well-ventilated and well-lit.
