Foreword

This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020

"Directives for standardization - Part 1.Rules for the structure and drafting of

standardizing documents".

This document is Part 3 of GB/T 1844 "Plastics - Symbols and abbreviated terms". The

following parts of GB/T 1844 have been issued.

- Part 1.Basic polymers and their special characteristics;

- Part 2.Fillers and reinforcing materials;

- Part 3.Plasticizers;

- Part 4.Tables of hardness values.

This document replaces GB/T 1844.3-2008 "Plastics - Symbols and abbreviated terms

- Part 3.Plasticizers". Compared with GB/T 1844.3-2008, in addition to the structural

adjustments and editorial modifications, the main technical changes in this document

are as follows.

a) Change "Annex A provides the symbols for the various components of the

abbreviated term" to " Annex A specifies the symbols for the various components

of the abbreviated term" (see 4.4 of this Edition; 2.4 of Edition version);

b) Add abbreviated terms ATBC, ATEC, ATEHC, DBTP, DINCH and DPHP (see

Table 1 of this Edition);

c) Add the abbreviated terms DPGDB and ODTM to CAS-RN (see Table 1 of this

Edition);

d) Change CAS-RN of abbreviated terms DOZ, TCEF, and TOTM (see Table 1 of

this Edition; Table 1 of Edition 2008);

e) Add DPCP as an abbreviated term for diphenyloctyl phosphate, DPOP for

diphenyloctyl phosphate, ATBC for acetyl tributyl citrate, TCEP for trichloroethyl

phosphate, TCP for tricresyl phosphate, ATEC for acetyl triethyl citrate, TOP for

trioctyl phosphate, and TXP for trixylyl phosphate (see Table 1 of this Edition);

f) Change the abbreviated term of epoxidized soybean oil from ESO to ESBO (see

Table 1 of this Edition; Table 1 of Edition 2008);

g) Change the IUPAC name of ODP. Add 119-07-3 as its CAS-RN (see Table 1 of

this Edition; Table 1 of Edition 2008);

h) Change the IUPAC names of TBAC and TEAC (see Table 1 of this Edition; Table

1 of Edition 2008);

i) Change the symbol for soybeans from "S" to "SB" (see Annex A of this Edition;

Annex A of Edition 2008);

j) Delete the symbol "PM" (see Annex A of Edition 2008);

k) Add "F" as the symbol for phosphate esters (see Annex A of this Edition).

The modification of this document uses ISO 1043-3.2016 "Plastics - Symbols and

abbreviated terms - Part 3.Plasticizers".

The technical differences between this document and ISO 1043-3.2016 and their

reasons are as follows.

a) In Clause 1, add the content of "applicable limits" to comply with the provisions

of GB/T 1.1-2020;

b) Replace ISO 1043-1 (see Clause 3) with GB/T 1844.1, which modified ISO 1043-

1, to adapt to the technical conditions in China;

c) Replace ISO 472 (see Clause 3) with GB/T 2035, which is equivalent to ISO 472,

to adapt to the technical conditions in China;

d) Add CAS-RN of BNP and PPA to Table 1 to adapt to the technical conditions in

China.

Versions of standard substituted by this document are.

- It was first issued in 1980 as GB/T 1844-1980 "Abbreviated terms and symbols of

plastics and resins". The first revision was GB/T 1844.3-1995 in 1995.The

second revision was in 2008;

- This is the third revision.

1 Scope

This document specifies the symbols and abbreviated terms related to plasticizers. This

document only includes abbreviated terms that are already in common use.

2 Normative references

The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this

document. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated references,

the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.

3 Terms and definitions

For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions defined in GB/T 1844.1

and GB/T 2035 apply.

4 General

Some plasticizers contain "iso" in their names, but they may be composed of

several isomers. Therefore, a single IUPAC name cannot describe the detailed chemical

composition of these plasticizers.

5 Abbreviated terms

The abbreviated terms of plasticizers are shown in Table 1.
