1 Scope

This Part of GB/T 18147 specifies the test method for the oil content of hemp fiber.

3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this Part of GB/T 18147.

4 Principle

Extract the oil and grease contained in the test specimen using a solvent; weigh the dry masses of the degreased fiber and the extracted oil/grease separately; calculate the oil content.

5 Apparatus and reagents

a) Soxhlet extractor;

b) Constant-temperature water bath. Temperature control deviation ±1 °C;

c) Drying oven. Temperature control range 50 °C ~ 150 °C, temperature control deviation ±1 °C;

d) Balance. Sensibility 0.01 g, 0.1 mg;

e) Desiccator. phi180 mm, phi150 mm;

f) Weighing bottle. phi40 mm × 70 mm;

g) Petroleum ether. Boiling range 60 °C ~ 90 °C;

h) Ethanol. Analytical grade;

i) Diethyl ether. Analytical grade;

j) Tweezers, scissors, etc.

6 Sampling

Sampling of raw white degummed hemp, raw white hemp sliver, raw white hemp noil shall be conducted in accordance with GB/T 18146.1, GB/T 18146.2, GB/T 18146.3, respectively. Three test specimens shall be taken for each sample; two shall be used for testing and one retained as a reserve. Each specimen shall weigh 5.00 g ± 0.20 g.
