Scope
GB/T 1796.4-2017 is the English-translated version of 轮胎气门嘴 第4部分:压紧式无内胎气门嘴.
GB/T 1796.4-2017 is Part 4 of the Chinese national series on tyre valves and deals with tubeless clamp-in valves. It covers terms, type designation, structural types, component types, structural dimensions and materials, appearance, assembly torque, tightness, corrosion resistance, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging and storage.
It applies to the tubeless tyre valves of motorcycles, cars, light trucks, trucks, buses, agricultural machinery and construction machinery, but not to aircraft tyre valves.
Type designation follows GB/T 21285, and an informative annex compares the valve types in this part with foreign ones. Compared with the previous edition it adds valve types and the NPT 1/8 thread and drops ozone resistance.
It replaces GB/T 1796.4-2009, was issued on 29 December 2017 and has applied since 1 November 2018.
