Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part

1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document is Part 1 of GB/T 17822 Rubber Tree Seedlings. GB/T 17822 has been published in the following parts.

2.Seedlings. This document replaces GB/T 17822.1-2009 Rubber Tree Seeds. Compared with GB/T 17822.1-2009, except for structural adjustment and editing, In addition to the changes in performance, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) The scope of application has been changed (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.2009 edition);

b) The terminology entries "sexual seed orchard", "same batch of seeds" and "seed orchard archive" were deleted (see 2.1,

2.7 of the.2009 edition);

c) The definition of the term "clarity" has been changed (see 3.3,

2.5 of the.2009 edition);

d) Added the term "excellence" (see 3.4);

e) The quality requirements have been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 of the.2009 edition);

f) Added the rules for rounding off the numerical values of calculation results (see 5.1, 5.2, 6.8);

g) The sampling method for packaged seeds has been changed (see 5.2,

5.1 of the.2009 edition);

h) The seed source inspection method has been changed (see 6.1,

1 Scope

GB/T 17822.1-2024 is the Chinese national standard on rubber tree seed and seedling - part 1: seed, in the field of agriculture. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 15 March 2024 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 October 2024. 3 Terms and definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

3.1 Purity The percentage of seeds of a specified rubber tree variety (line) to the total number of seeds inspected.

3.2 Seed collection area A specific area in a productive rubber plantation where all or part of the planting materials and their planting forms meet the requirements for the construction of a rootstock seed garden.

3.3 Clarity The percentage of the mass of rubber tree seeds in the samples submitted for inspection to the total mass of the samples inspected.

3.4 Soundness The percentage of high-quality seeds to the total number of seeds inspected.

3.5 A rubber plantation established with planting materials of certain rubber tree varieties (lines) or combinations of varieties (lines) to produce rootstock seeds.
