Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents".

Drafting.

This document supersedes GB/T 17770-1999 "Technical Requirements and Test Methods for General-Purpose Containers for Air/Land/Water (Intermodal Transport)".

Compared with GB/T 17770-1999, the main technical changes in the "Law" are as follows, apart from structural adjustments and editorial modifications.

a) The container type codes in the range have been changed (see Chapter 1, 1999 edition 1.3);

b) Added requirements for 1CC case type (see 5.1, 5.2 and 5.4, 4.1, 4.2 and 4.4 in the 1999 edition);

c) General requirements have been changed, the maximum gross weight of type 1B and 1C land/water (intermodal) containers has been changed, and basic requirements for type 1CC containers have been added.

Design requirements (see 6.1, 6.2.1~6.2.3, 6.3.2, 6.7.1.1, and 5.1, 5.1~5.1.3, 5.2.2, 5.6.1.1 of the 1999 edition);

d) The design requirements for the base frame fastening on the roller conveyor have been changed (see 6.2.4.6, 5.1.4.6 of the 1999 edition);

e) The design requirement for the grab slot has been removed (see 5.1.4.7 in the 1999 edition);

f) The forklift design requirements have been changed (see 6.7.1.2, 5.6.1.1 of the 1999 edition);

g) A test for the 1CC chamber type has been added (see 7.2.2, 7.3.2, 7.4.2, 7.8.3.1, 7.10.1);

h) The test load for the forklift test was changed (see 7.10.2, 6.10.2 in the 1999 edition);

i) The width of the load transfer area has been changed (see B.2.5, A5.3 of the 1999 edition).

This document is modified to adopt ISO 8323:1985 "Containers - General purpose containers for air, land and water transport - Technical requirements and test methods".

This document has undergone significant structural adjustments compared to ISO 8323:1985.A table comparing the structural numbering changes between the two documents is provided.

The technical differences between this document and ISO 8323:1985, and the reasons therefor, are as follows.

a) The scope has been changed (see Chapter 1, 1.1 of ISO 8323:1985) to suit my country's technical conditions;

b) The container type codes have been changed to align with the technical requirements in GB/T 1836-2017, in order to adapt to my country's technical conditions.

c) ISO 8097 has been replaced by the normatively referenced GB/T 15140 to adapt to my country's technical conditions (see 4.1, 6.3.1).

d) ISO 6346 has been replaced by the normatively referenced GB/T 1836 to adapt to my country's technical conditions (see 4.4, ISO 8323:1985).

e) ISO 668 has been replaced by the normatively referenced GB/T 1413 to adapt to my country's technical conditions (see 5.1, 6.2.1, 6.4).

f) The size of the 1CC box type has been increased (see 5.1, 5.2) to adapt to my country's technical conditions;

g) The rating for the 1CC case type has been increased (see 5.4) to adapt to my country's technical conditions;

h) Change the footnote in Chapter 5 of ISO 8323:1985 to a requirement clause and move it to 6.1;

i) Basic design requirements for the 1CC case type have been added (see 6.2.1~6.2.3, 6.3.2, 6.7.1.1) to adapt to my country's technical conditions;

j) Change the maximum gross vehicle weight of type 1B and 1C land/water (intermodal) containers to 30480 kg, in accordance with the technical specifications in GB/T 1413-2023.

Technical requirements should be kept consistent to adapt to my country's technical conditions (see 6.2.1, ISO 8323:1985, 5.1.1);

k) ISO 3874 has been replaced with the normatively referenced GB/T 17382 to adapt to my country's technical conditions (see 6.2.4.1).

l) ISO 1161 has been replaced by the normatively referenced GB/T 1835 to adapt to my country's technical conditions (see 6.4, ISO 8323:1985).

m) The forklift design requirements have been modified to be consistent with those of ISO 1496-1 (see 6.7.1.2, 5.6.1.1 of ISO 8323:1985);

n) A 1CC test chamber was added to adapt to my country's technical conditions (see 7.2.2, 7.3.2, 7.4.2, 7.8.3.1, 7.10);

o) The test load for the forklift test was modified to be consistent with the requirements of ISO 1496-1 (see 7.10.2, ISO 8323:1985).

p) The description of the gripper structure has been removed, simplifying unnecessary expressions (see 5.1.4.7 of ISO 8323:1985);

q) The width of the load transfer zone has been changed to 375 mm (see B.2.5) to be consistent with the requirements of ISO 668 (see B.2.5).

The following editorial changes have been made to this document.

a) Note 1.2 in ISO 8323:1985 has been deleted;

b) In ISO 8323:1985, 0.2 should be changed to Chapter 3;

c) The page footnote in section 4.4 of ISO 8323:1985 has been removed;

d) Note 1 in Table 2b) of ISO 8323:1985 has been deleted;

e) Based on my country's actual situation, the unit of force daN is converted to kg (1 daN = 1.02 kg) or N (1 daN = 10 N);

f) A.1 of ISO 8323:1985 has been removed;

g) Annexes B.1 to B.4 of ISO 8323:1985 have been deleted.
