Foreword

This Document was drafted as per the rules specified in GB/T 1.1-2020 Directives for

Standardization - Part 1.Rules for the Structure and Drafting of Standardizing Documents.

This Document replaced GB/T 15934-2008 Electrical Accessories - Cord Sets and

Interconnection Cord Sets, and GB/T 26219-2010 Electrical Accessories—Y-Splitter Cord Sets

and Y-Splitter Interconnection Cord Sets. This Document mainly adopts GB/T 15934-2008,

integrating the contents of GB/T 26219-2010.Compared with GB/T 15934-2008, the major

technical changes of this Document are as follows besides the structural adjustments and

editorial modifications.

--- Change the definition of cord sets; added the types of cord sets with two connectors (see

2022 to adapt to China's technical conditions and increase operability;

--- Replace IEC 60884-1 (see Clause 5) by the normatively referenced GB/T 2099.1 to adapt

to China's technical conditions and increase operability;

--- Replace IEC 60320-2-3 (see 5.1) by the normatively referenced GB/T 17465.3 to adapt

to China's technical conditions and increase operability;

--- Change the requirements for equipment classification. According to China's plug type,

change 5.2.3 to a cord set equipped with a connector for Class II equipment can be

equipped with a plug for Class I equipment that complies with GB/T 1002 to adapt to

China's technical conditions and increase operability;

--- Replace IEC 61140 by the normatively referenced GB/T 17045 to adapt to China's

technical conditions and increase operability (see 5.2.3 of this Edition);

--- Change the inspection requirements for electrical continuity and polarity (see Clause 6

of this Edition) to adapt to China's technical conditions and increase operability;

--- Add the requirements for Y-splitter interconnection part (see Appendix B of this Edition)

to adapt to China's technical conditions and increase operability.

This Document mad ethe following editorial modifications.

--- Incorporate the content of IEC 60799.2018/AMD1.2022, and mark it with a vertical

double line (||) on the outside;

--- Supplement "This Document specifies the requirements for components, the entire

assembly, electrical continuity and polarity of cord sets and interconnection cord sets

used in household and similar equipment so as to comply with the provisions of GB/T

1.1" in Clause 1 "Scope";

--- Change the NOTEs of the marking parts (see 5.2.4 of this Edition) to adapt to China's

technical conditions and increase operability;

--- Add Bibliography.

1 Scope

This Document specifies the requirements for components, the entire assembly, electrical

continuity and polarity of cord sets and interconnection cord sets used in household and similar

equipment.

2 Normative References

The provisions in following documents become the essential provisions of this Document

through reference in this Document. For the dated documents, only the versions with the dates

indicated are applicable to this Document; for the undated documents, only the latest version

(including all the amendments) is applicable to this Document.

3 Terms and Definitions

For the purposes of this Document, the following terms and definitions apply.

The websites of terminology databases used for standardization maintained by ISO and IEC are

as follows.

4 General Requirements

The design and construction of cord sets and interconnection cord sets shall ensure that the

products perform reliably and are not dangerous to users and the surrounding environment

during normal use.

5 Requirements

The rated voltage of the connector and wire shall be no less than that of the corresponding plug.

For interconnection cord set, the rated voltage of the connector and the plug connector shall be

the same.

The classification of the plug and connector according to the protection against electric shock

shall be the same as that of the equipment to be connected; and the classification of the

equipment according to protection against electric shock shall be in accordance with GB/T

17045.

6 Electrical Continuity and Polarity

Cord set and interconnection cord set used in polarized systems shall ensure electrical

continuity between the corresponding plug/plug connector pins and connector sleeves of each

pole.

7 EMC Requirements

Requirements for accessories equipped with electronic components are not included because

such needs have not yet been determined.

These cord sets and interconnection cord sets are not sensitive to normal electromagnetic

except for the electromagnetic interference that may occur during occasional operation of plugging and

unplugging accessories. The frequencies, levels, and results of these electromagnetic emissions are

considered to be part of the normal electromagnetic environment.
