Scope

GB/T 14624.3-2008 is the English-translated version of 胶印油墨流动度检验方法.

GB/T 14624.3-2008 is the part of the GB/T 14624 series that describes how the fluidity of offset printing ink is measured. A measured volume of ink is pressed under a set load for a set time, and the diameter in millimetres of the disc it spreads into is the result.

It lists the tools and materials needed - palette knife, glass plate, ethanol, cotton yarn, a 0.1 mL ink pipette, a ruler graduated in 1 mm, a timer and the fluidity tester with its glass discs of 50 g and its 200 g weights - and fixes the test temperature at (23 ± 2) °C. Ink makers and testing laboratories use it to compare offset inks.

It replaces GB/T 14624.3-1993, was issued on 30 December 2008 and has applied since 1 September 2009.

Foreword

GB/T 14624 in this section instead of GB/T 14624.3-1993 "ink fluidity test method." This portion of the GB/T 14624.3-1993 The main differences are as follows.

--- Standard name was changed to "offset inks fluidity test methods";

--- Ambient temperature index has been adjusted to cancel the humidity requirements.

1 Scope

GB/T 14624 in the test methods specified in this part of the offset printing ink flowability. This section applies to offset printing ink fluidity test.

2 Principle

Sample a volume of ink at a predetermined pressure by a certain time, which extended into a cylinder diameter in mm's.

3.1 Palette knife

3.2 Glass

3.3 Scrubbing solvent. ethanol

3.4 Cotton yarn

3.5 Ink suction tube. capacity 0.1mL

3.6 Transparent ruler. dividing the value of 1mm

3.7 Fluidity tester

(produced by a mass of 200g ± 0.05g of five weight, etc., two mass of 50g ± 0.05g, thickness of 5mm ~ 6mm, 65mm ~ 70mm smooth surface of the glass circle diameter and composed of a metal mounting plate, see Fig. 1).

4 Conditions

Test should be carried out at a temperature of (23 ± 2) °C conditions.

5 Test step

5.1 ink samples and fluidity tester should be placed in advance heated indoor heat 20min.

5.2 with a palette knife to take samples of the ink 4g ~ 5g, mobilized 15 times on a glass plate (round trip time), with the ink absorbing pipe draw sample 0.1mL, The nozzle and scrape around the remainder of the ink, and the sample nozzle flush tube ink shall not contain air bubbles.
