This document is based on GB/T 13217.5-2008, integrating the contents of GB/T 14624.4-2008, and Compared with GB/T 13217.5-2008, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

---Changed the scope (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of GB/T 13217.5-2008);

---Added terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);

1 Scope

GB/T 13217.5-2023 is the Chinese national standard on testing method for drying of printing ink, in the field of paint and colour industries. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 7 September 2023 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 April 2024. Classification: ICS 87.080, CCS Y44. This document describes methods for testing ink dryness. This document is applicable to the inspection of ink drying. This document does not apply to the inspection of energy-curable inks.

4 Inspection conditions

The inspection should be carried out under the conditions of temperature (23±2)°C and relative humidity (65±5)%.
