Scope

GB/T 14496-2023 is the English-translated version of 地球化学勘查术语.

GB/T 14496-2023 is the Chinese national standard on terms of geochemical exploration, in the field of natural and applied sciences. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 17 March 2023 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 July 2023. Classification: ICS 07.060, CCS A40/49. This page is published from the official record of the standard held by the Chinese standards administration: the identification, the dates, the classification and the issuing body are taken from there. The clause text, the tables and the numeric limits are in the document itself, which is delivered complete in English translation.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1:1-2020 "Guidelines for Standardization Work Part 1: Structure and Drafting Rules for Standardization Documents" drafting: This document replaces GB/T 14496-1993 "Geochemical Exploration Terminology": Compared with GB/T 14496-1993, except for structural adjustment and Apart from editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Changed the scope of application of geochemical prospecting terms (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the:1993 edition);

b) Integrate the basic terms into two aspects of mineral exploration geochemistry and ecological geochemistry (see 3:1, chapter 2,:1993 edition Chapter 4, Chapter 7, Chapter 8);

c) Some terms such as geochemical landscape and comprehensive anomaly have been changed (see 4:4, 4:9:21, Chapter 3 of the:1993 edition);

d) Added terms related to the description of geochemical characteristics (see 4:7:2, 4:14:1, 4:14:3, 4:14:5, 4:14:6, 4:14:13);

e) The terms of geochemical anomalies associated with geochemical medium characteristics, migration characteristics, and coverage conditions have been added (see 4:9:11~ 4:9:19);

f) Added abnormal terms related to energy minerals (see 4:9:22, 4:9:23);

g) Added terms related to structural superposition halo prospecting (see 4:10:9, 5:1:3);

h) Added terms related to geochemical anomaly zoning and anomalous feature description (see 4:11, 4:11:2);

i) Divide geochemical prospecting methods into: different media geochemical prospecting methods, solid mineral geochemical prospecting, energy geochemical prospecting Geochemical prospecting, ecological geochemical survey, anomaly verification method and technology, and formed a systematic geochemical prospecting method System (see Chapter 5);

j) Added terms related to sample properties (see 6:1:12);

k) Changed the terms related to selective sampling (see 6:2:3);

l) Some sample analysis terms have been adjusted according to the analysis quality monitoring system (see 7:1, 7:1:1, 7:1:2:2, 7:2, 7:2:1~7:2:5, Chapter 6 of the:1993 edition);

m) Added related techniques such as field raw data, geochemical parameter statistics, geochemical database, and geochemical map feature description: Language (see 8:1, 8:2, 8:3, 8:4);
