Proximity switches detect objects without contact and are common in machinery and industrial automation. This standard is Part 5-2 of the series on low-voltage switchgear and controlgear, dealing with control circuit devices and switching elements, namely proximity switches. Its Chinese numbering, GB/T 14048.10, differs from the part number in the title. It is a recommended national standard.
Sensor and switch manufacturers, machine builders, panel builders, certification and test laboratories, and designers who select components for control systems can use it. It supports specification and verification of proximity switches in a common framework.
The standard was issued on 31 October 2025 and took effect on 1 May 2026, so it is in force. It replaces GB/T 14048.10-2016. Product documentation and test programmes based on the earlier edition should be reviewed against the new text.

GB/T 14048.10-2025 is a recommended national standard (GB/T) of the People's Republic of China, issued on 31 October 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Standardization Administration of China, with effect from 1 May 2026.
This edition replaces GB/T 14048.10-2016.
The document adopts an international standard (ISO or IEC).
It is under the responsibility of the China Electrical Equipment Industry Association.
