Scope
GB/T 13447-2008 is the English-translated version of 无缝气瓶用钢坯.
GB/T 13447-2008 is the Chinese national standard for the steel billets from which high-pressure seamless gas cylinders are made.
It fixes four grades - 34Mn2V, 37Mn, 30CrMo and 34CrMo - with their melting-analysis composition, the square sections of 200, 230, 250 and 280 mm with their side, diagonal and corner-radius tolerances, usual lengths of 4 m to 12 m, curvature under 15 mm per metre and 1.5% overall, and the mechanical minima for normalized and quenched specimens, 350 MPa to 835 MPa yield against 650 MPa to 980 MPa tensile.
It also sets the macro-etch levels for segregation, centre porosity and general looseness, the non-metallic inclusion limits, the surface quality and dressing rules, the test items and batching, and the retest rules.
It replaces GB 13447-1992, was issued on 26 August 2008 and has applied since 1 September 2009.
