Foreword

This document was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020, Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents.

This document replaces GB/T 33955-2017, Steel wire ropes for mine hoisting. Compared with GB/T 33955-2017, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) a clause "Terms and definitions" has been added (see Clause 3);

b) the round strand rope construction 17×7, the shaped strand rope constructions 4×V39FC, 4×V48FC, 6×V30, 6×Q19:6×V21FC and 6×Q33:6×V21FC, and the compacted strand rope constructions 6×K19W, 6×K25F, 6×K29F, 18×K19W, 15×K7 and 16×K7 have been deleted (see Table 1 of the 2017 edition);

c) the round strand rope constructions 6×46WS, 7×19S, 7×26WS, 7×31WS, 7×36WS, 7×41WS, 8×26WS, 8×31WS, 8×36WS, 8×41WS, 24(W)×17S, 24(W)×19S, 35(W)×17S and 35(W)×19S, the shaped strand rope construction 6×V28SB, and the compacted strand rope constructions 6×K46WS, 7×K19S, 7×K26WS, 7×K31WS, 7×K36WS, 7×K41WS, 8×K26WS, 8×K31WS, 8×K36WS, 8×K41WS, 24(W)×K7, 24(W)×K17S, 24(W)×K19S, 35(W)×K17S and 35(W)×K19S have been added (see Table 1);

d) the diameter ranges of 29 rope constructions such as 6×7 and 6×19S have been changed (see Table 1; Table 1 of the 2017 edition);

e) the designation of shaped strand ropes of class 6×V25 has been changed (see Table 1; Table 1 of the 2017 edition);

f) the requirements for lubrication and elongation in the ordering information have been deleted (see Clause 4 of the 2017 edition);

g) requirements for the nominal tensile strength grades of rope wires to be selected for the different rope grades have been added (see Table 3);

h) composite core types have been added (see 6.2.1);

i) the requirements for ordinary grease and friction-enhancing grease for steel wire ropes have been changed (see 6.3; 5.3 of the 2017 edition);

j) the requirements for the diameter of wires joined by butt welding or splicing have been changed (see 7.3; 6.2.3 of the 2017 edition);

k) the permissible deviation of the diameter of compacted strand ropes has been changed to "0 to +5% d" (see Table 4; Table 3 of the 2017 edition);

l) the permissible length deviation for ropes with a nominal length above 1 500 m has been added (see Table 5);

m) the requirement for elongation has been deleted (see 6.7 of the 2017 edition);

n) the weight factors and minimum breaking force factors of the rope classes 4×V35N, 23×K7 and 6×Q19:6×V21FC have been deleted (see Table 5 of the 2017 edition);

o) weight factors and minimum breaking force factors for 13 rope classes such as 7×19, 7×36 and 8×K19 have been added (see Table 6);

p) the weight factors of 13 rope classes such as 6×7, 6×V8 and 18×K7 and the minimum breaking force factors of 4 rope classes such as 6×K7 and 35(W)×K7 have been changed (see Table 6; Table 5 of the 2017 edition);

q) the formula for calculating the minimum aggregate breaking force of the rope [see Formula (3); Formula (3) of the 2017 edition] and the method of calculating the measured aggregate breaking force of the wires (see 8.2.5; 7.1.5 of the 2017 edition) have been changed;

r) technical requirements such as the permissible tensile strength deviation for wires with a diameter of less than 0.50 mm have been added (see Tables 7, 8 and 14);

s) the technical requirement for the knot tensile test of wires with a diameter of less than 0.50 mm has been added (see 7.11.5);

t) minimum numbers of reverse bends and of simple torsions for wires taken from ropes of grade 2160 have been added (see Tables 10 to 12);

u) the conformity criteria for steel wire ropes have been changed (see 9.2 and 9.3; 8.2 of the 2017 edition);

v) the requirements for safety, use and maintenance of steel wire ropes have been changed (see Annex D; Clause 10 of the 2017 edition).
