Foreword

This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB/T 13403-2008 "Gaskets for Large Diameter Steel Pipe Flanges". Compared with GB/T 13403-2008, except for the structure In addition to adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Added metal toothed combination gaskets and related requirements (see Chapter 1, Chapter 4, 5.1.4, 5.2.4, Chapter 6 and Chapter 7);

b) Added instructions for the size and type selection of the "locating ring type" gasket (see Table 1~Table 2);

c) Increased the dimensions of non-metallic flat gaskets and flexible graphite composite reinforced gaskets for B series flange Class 75 (see Table 4 and Table 12);

d) Changed the dimensions of non-metallic flat gaskets, metal corrugated composite gaskets, and flexible graphite composite reinforced gaskets (see Table 3 to Table 8, Table 11 ~ Table 12, Table 3 ~ Table 10 of the.2008 version);

e) Changed the dimensional limit deviation of gaskets (see Table 13~Table 15, Table 17, Table 11~Table 14 of the.2008 version);

f) Added dimensional limit deviation requirements for non-metallic flat gaskets of rubber sheets (see Table 14);

1 Scope

GB/T 13403-2023 is the Chinese national standard on gaskets for large-diameter steel pipe flanges, in the field of fluid systems and general-purpose components. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 7 September 2023 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 April 2024. This document specifies the requirements for gaskets, inspection, marking and marking as well as packaging, transportation and storage of large diameter steel pipe flanges.
