Scope
GB/T 12182-2018 is the English-translated version of 空中交通管制二次监视雷达通用规范.
GB/T 12182-2018 is the Chinese national standard on general specification for secondary surveillance radar of air traffic control, in the field of services and company organization. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 17 September 2018 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 January 2019. Classification: ICS 03.220, CCS V54. This page is published from the official record of the standard held by the Chinese standards administration: the identification, the dates, the classification and the issuing body are taken from there. The clause text, the tables and the numeric limits are in the document itself, which is delivered complete in English translation.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GB/T 12182-1990 "General Technical Conditions for Air Traffic Control Secondary Surveillance Radar". This standard and Compared with GB/T 12182-1990, the main technical changes are as follows:
--- Modified the "scope" description (see Chapter 1, Chapter 1 of the.1990 edition);
---Modified "normative references" (see Chapter 2, Chapter 2 of the.1990 edition);
--- Added 13 terms, delete the terms "interrogation lobe", "control lobe" and "control pulse" (see Chapter 3,.1990 edition) Chapter 3);
--- Removed the "Product Classification" (see Chapter 4 of the.1990 edition);
--- Increased the "composition" requirements (see 4.1);
--- Revised the "action distance" requirement (see 4.2.1,
5.1.1 of the.1990 edition);
--- Removed the "discovery probability" (see version
5.1.2 of the.1990 edition);
--- Added "precision" "working mode" and "target processing capability" requirements (see 4.2.2,
4.2.4 and 4.2.5);
--- Revised the "resolution" requirement (see 4.2.3,.1990 version 5.1.3);
---Modified the "inquiry mode" (see 4.2.4.1,.1990 version 5.3.6), moving the content to "working mode" (see 4.2.4);

This standard specifies the technical requirements, test methods and quality evaluation of the air traffic control secondary surveillance radar (hereinafter referred to as the secondary surveillance radar). Set procedures, marking, packaging, transportation and storage requirements. This standard is applicable to the design, production and acceptance of secondary surveillance radars in conventional or single-pulse systems. It is the preparation of various types of secondary surveillance radars. The basic basis of the product standard.
