1 Scope

GB/T 11848.3-2025 is the Chinese national standard on methods for analysis of uranium ore concentrate - part 3: determination of extractable organic material - gravimetric method, in the field of energy and heat transfer engineering. The /T suffix marks it as a recommended standard: it is not compulsory by itself, but it becomes binding as soon as a contract, a tender or a customer specification calls it up - which in practice is how most foreign buyers meet it. It was issued on 5 October 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 May 2026. This document describes a method for determining extractable organic compounds in uranium ore concentrates. This document applies to the determination of extractable organic matter in uranium ore concentrates, with a measurement range of not less than 0.05%.

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 10268 apply to this document.

4.Principles The sample was first extracted with n-hexane, then dissolved in aqua regia solution (5.6) and extracted with chloroform (5.2). The two extracts were then evaporated separately. Weighing and evaporating the total net weight gives the content of extractable organic matter.

5.Reagents or materials Unless otherwise specified, all reagents used were of analytical grade. The water used in the experiments met the Class I water standard specified in GB/T 6682.
