1 Scope

GB 46031-2025 is the Chinese national standard on technical specifications for explosion prevention and protection in combustible dust processing system, in the field of environment and health protection, safety. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 1 August 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 February 2026. This document specifies the general requirements for explosion protection of combustible dust process systems, basic requirements for explosion protection, general process equipment and components The requirements for the crushing system, mechanical conveying system and drying system are specified, and the verification method is described. This document applies to the design, production, operation, management and inspection of process systems involving combustible dust. This document is not applicable to dust places in coal mines, fireworks, explosives and strong oxidizers.

3.1 Process systems that produce, handle, store or generate combustible dust.
