GB 15605 is the design standard for explosion venting, the measure that decides whether a dust explosion inside a silo, a dust collector or a bucket elevator blows out through a panel or bursts the vessel. It sets the general requirements, the design and selection of the vent, the requirements on the venting device itself, then the installation, use, inspection and maintenance, and the verification methods, with eight annexes carrying the vent area calculations and worked examples for containers, dust collectors, piping and bucket elevators. The status changed with this edition: the previous text was GB/T 15605-2008, a guide, while this one is mandatory. Issued on 31 December 2024, in force since 1 January 2026.
