This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part

1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB 17918-2008 "Safety Regulations for Dust Explosion Prevention in Bulk Grain Loading and Unloading Systems at Ports". In addition to structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

1 Scope

GB 17918-2025 is the Chinese national standard on safety specification for dust explosion protection in bulk grain loading and unloading system in port, in the field of environment and health protection, safety. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 24 January 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 August 2025. 3 Terms and definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 15604 and the following apply to this document.

3.1 Bulk grain A general term for unpackaged raw grains and their processed products or by-product particles.

3.2 A general term for equipment, facilities and buildings (structures) used for bulk grain loading and unloading, transportation and auxiliary operations in the port.

3.3 Silo A vertical cylindrical enclosed structure for storing bulk materials.

3.4 Bulk cargoes store house Room-type structures for storing bulk materials.
