Scope
GB 35793-2018 is the English-translated version of 车用乙醇汽油E85.
GB 35793-2018 specifies the technical requirements and test methods, sampling, marking, packaging, transport, storage and safety of ethanol gasoline for motor vehicles E85, the fuel for dedicated spark-ignition engines made by blending gasoline complying with GB 22030 and/or GB 17930 into denatured fuel ethanol complying with GB 18350 to an ethanol content of 65% to 85% by volume.
Table 1 sets the ethanol content, a seasonal vapour pressure of 45 kPa to 85 kPa from November to April and 40 kPa to 65 kPa from May to October (all year in Guangxi, Guangdong and Hainan), and limits for acidity (40 mg/L), sulfur (10 mg/kg), methanol (0.5%), solvent-washed and unwashed gum (5 and 20 mg/100 mL), pHe (6.5 to 9.0), inorganic chloride (1 mg/L), water (1.0%), copper (0.07 mg/L) and copper strip corrosion (class 1), each with its test method.
Samples of 2 L are taken to GB/T 4756, marking, packaging, transport and storage follow SH 0164 with the product name shown on dedicated tanks, and the fuel is classed as a flammable liquid with hazard statements from GB 30000.7-2013.
