Scope
GB 30004-2013 is the English-translated version of 婴儿摇篮的安全要求.
GB 30004-2013 specifies the safety requirements, test methods, marking and instructions for use of cradles: man-powered, self-balancing rocking infant beds for babies younger than 5 months or not yet able to sit up, kneel up or pull themselves up, with an internal base length of not more than 900 mm.
Infant rocking chairs, carry cots and swings are excluded.
Material requirements cover cleanliness, decay-free wood, corrosion protection and limits for migratable elements in accessible materials and coatings (for example lead 90 mg/kg, cadmium 75 mg/kg, barium 1 000 mg/kg), together with textile safety to GB 18401, flammability to GB 6675 and formaldehyde emission of wooden cradles to GB 18584.
Construction requirements deal with edges and minimum radii, holes and probe tests, small parts, cords, fasteners, lockable castors, rocking and drop-side locks and folding locks needing at least 50 N to release, base and side gaps (25 mm probe, 45 mm to 65 mm between members), internal side height of at least 275 mm, stability, mattress thickness of not more than 38 mm and plastic packaging warnings.
The test methods set general conditions (conditioning at 15 °C to 25 °C for at least 48 h, force accuracy ±5%) and describe the test masses, probes, stops and small parts cylinder used.
