Scope
GB 30000.9-2013 is the English-translated version of 化学品分类和标签规范 第9部分:自反应物质和混合物.
GB 30000.9-2013 specifies the terms and definitions, classification criteria, decision logic and guidance, and labelling of self-reactive substances and mixtures, and applies to their classification and labelling in accordance with the UN Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), with which its technical content is consistent (fourth revised edition).
It defines self-reactive substances as thermally unstable liquids or solids liable to strongly exothermic decomposition even without oxygen, sets the exclusions (explosives, oxidizers, organic peroxides, heat of decomposition below 300 J/g, SADT above 75 °C for a 50 kg package), assigns substances to Types A to G on the basis of detonation, deflagration, heating under confinement and explosive power, and requires temperature control where the SADT is 55 °C or lower.
The labelling clause covers pictograms, the signal words Danger (Types A to D) and Warning (Types E and F), hazard and precautionary statements, product identifier and supplier identification; the annexes give the decision logic flowchart based on test series A to H of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria, the allocation of label elements, classification criteria and label elements, hazard and precautionary statements and label examples.
Clauses 4 and 6 are mandatory and the rest is recommended. It replaces GB 20583-2006, with a new title, the decision logic moved to an informative annex, the former clauses 6 to 8 merged into a single labelling clause per GHS Rev.
4, and a new annex of label examples. It was issued on 10 October 2013 and has been in force since 1 November 2014. Classification: ICS 13.300, CCS A80. The document runs to 18 pages, delivered complete in English translation.

This part is Part 9 of GB 30000.
This part has been drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This part replaces GB 20583-2006 Safety rules for classification, precautionary labelling and precautionary statements of chemicals - Self-reactive substances.
The technical content of this part is consistent with the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) (fourth revised edition).
Compared with GB 20583-2006, the main technical changes in this part are as follows:
- the title of the standard has been changed: the Chinese title has been changed to the equivalent of "Rules for classification and labelling of chemicals - Part 9: Self-reactive substances and mixtures", and the English title is "Rules for classification and labelling of chemicals - Part 9: - Self-reactive substances and mixtures";
- the content of the scope in Clause 1 has been modified: "precautionary labelling" has been changed to "labelling" and "precautionary statements" has been deleted;
- the introductory wording of Clause 2 "Normative references" has been modified, and the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) (fourth revised edition) has been added as a referenced document;
- introductory wording has been added to Clause 3 "Terms and definitions";
- Figure 1 "Decision logic" and the "Guidance" in Clause 5 have been made informative Annex A;
- the former Clause 7 has been deleted, and Table 3 of the former Clause 7, modified in accordance with the United Nations Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS) (fourth revised edition), has been made normative Annex B;
