Scope
GB/T 45217-2025 is the English-translated version of 危险货物 自反应物质和有机过氧化物包装件引爆试验方法.
GB/T 45217-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering whether a package of a self-reactive substance or an organic peroxide detonates when a detonation is forced on it — the electric detonator and the detonating cord that initiate it, the carbon steel called up for the test assembly, the arrangement and the procedure, and the criteria for reading the outcome, which decide whether the substance may travel in that packaging or only in a smaller one. A substance that behaves on its own can behave differently once it is boxed in quantity, which is why the test is run on the package. First edition, in force from 1 May 2025. Issued on 24 January 2025, it has been in force since 1 May 2025.

3.1 [Source. GB 30000.9-2013, 3.1, modified]
A thermally unstable liquid or solid substance or mixture that is susceptible to violent exothermic decomposition even in the absence of oxygen (air).
3.2 Organic peroxide
Liquid containing a divalent -OO- structure, which can be regarded as a derivative in which one or two hydrogen atoms of hydrogen peroxide have been replaced by organic groups solid or organic matter.
Note. The term also includes organic peroxide preparations (mixtures). Organic peroxides are substances or mixtures that undergo exothermic self-accelerating decomposition and are thermally unstable. Compound.
