Scope

GB 21342-2025 is the English-translated version of 焦炭单位产品能源消耗限额.

GB 21342-2025 specifies the grades of energy consumption limit, the technical requirements, the statistical scope and the calculation methods for the energy consumption per unit product of coke, and applies to its calculation and assessment in enterprises operating conventional coke ovens and to energy control in new-build, reconstruction and expansion projects.

Table 1 sets the grades in kgce/t: top-charged coke ovens <= 110, <= 110 and <= 135, stamp-charged coke ovens <= 115, <= 115 and <= 140 for grades 1, 2 and 3; the limit value for existing enterprises is the corrected grade 3 value and the access value for new, expanded and reconstructed projects is the corrected grade 2 value.

The corrections of 5.3 and Table 2 cover heating with mixed gas instead of coke oven gas, the dry-basis volatile matter and total moisture of the charged coal, wet instead of dry coke quenching (add 46.46 kgce/t) and coke oven age.

Clause 6 defines the statistical scope of the coking process (with 26 kgce/t added where gas cleaning and wastewater treatment belong to another entity), the principles for energy and working-medium conversion coefficients with reference to Annexes A and B, and formula (3) for the energy consumption per tonne of anhydrous total coke.

It replaces GB 21342-2013, revising the terms, the grade values and the coke oven age correction and deleting the energy-saving measures. Issued on 25 April 2025, in force since 1 May 2026.

Foreword

This document is drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2020 "Directives for standardization - Part 1: Rules for the structure and drafting of standardizing documents".

This document replaces GB 21342-2013 "Norm of energy consumption per unit production of coke". Compared with GB 21342-2013, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

- the terms and definitions have been changed (see Clause 3; Clause 3 of the 2013 edition);

- the indicator values of the energy consumption grades have been changed (see Clause 4; Clause 4 of the 2013 edition);

- corrections of the energy consumption grade indicator values for fuel conditions, raw material conditions and process conditions have been added (see 5.3);

- the correction for coke oven age has been changed (see 5.3; 5.2.2 of the 2013 edition);

- the statistical scope of the energy consumption per unit product of coke has been changed (see 6.1.1; 5.1.1 of the 2013 edition);

- the energy-saving measures have been deleted (see Clause 6 of the 2013 edition).
