Scope

GB 21256-2025 is the English-translated version of 粗钢生产主要工序单位产品能源消耗限额.

GB 21256-2025 is the Chinese national standard on norm of energy consumption per unit production of main individual-process of crude steel manufacturing process, in the field of energy and heat transfer engineering. It carries no /T suffix, which in the Chinese system means compliance is mandatory: a product or a practice within its scope has to meet it to be lawfully made, sold or carried out in China. It was issued on 30 June 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation; Standardization Administration of China, and has been in force since 1 July 2026. Classification: ICS 27.010, CCS F01. This page is published from the official record of the standard held by the Chinese standards administration: the identification, the dates, the classification and the issuing body are taken from there. The clause text, the tables and the numeric limits are in the document itself, which is delivered complete in English translation.

Foreword

This document is in accordance with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Guidelines for standardization work Part

1.Structure and drafting rules for standardization documents" Drafting. This document replaces GB 21256-2013 "Limits of energy consumption per unit product in major processes of crude steel production" and GB 32050-2015 "Limits of energy consumption per unit product in major processes of crude steel production" Compared with GB 21256-2013 and GB 32050-2015, in addition to structural adjustments and editorial In addition to the modifications, the main technical changes are as follows:

a) Added relevant content on the energy consumption limit per unit product of the electric arc furnace process (see 3.5, 4.5, 5.1.5,

5.2.5 and Chapter 6);

b) Added energy consumption limit levels (see Chapter 4);

c) The technical requirements have been changed to clarify the corresponding relationship between the limit value, entry value and energy consumption limit level (see Chapter 5, GB 21256- 2013, Chapter 4);

d) The advanced values of energy consumption per unit product in the main processes of crude steel production have been deleted (see

4.3 of GB 21256-2013);

e) The advanced values of main energy recovery in the main processes of crude steel production (see

4.4 of GB 21256-2013) have been deleted;

f) The advanced value of the limit under the electricity equivalent value conversion coefficient (see

4.5 of GB 21256-2013) has been deleted;

g) Energy-saving measures (see Chapter 6 of GB 21256-2013) have been deleted. Please note that some of the contents of this document may involve patents.
