Scope
GB 20265-2019 is the English-translated version of 足部防护 防化学品鞋.
GB 20265-2019 is the Chinese national standard for footwear that protects the wearer's feet from chemicals at work. It sets the terms and definitions, the classification and grading of such footwear, the technical requirements and the test methods, together with the marking and the information the manufacturer has to supply.
The requirements are organised by part of the shoe - whole shoe, upper, lining, tongue, insoles, outsole - and by property, from upper height, bonding strength, water resistance, leakproofness and slip resistance to pH, hexavalent chromium content, tear and abrasion resistance and chemical resistance.
Annex A gives the degradation test. Makers and testing laboratories of chemical-protective footwear use it. It replaces GB 20265-2006 and GB 20266-2006, was issued on 31 December 2019 and has applied since 1 July 2020.

Foreword
This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009.
This standard replaces GB 20265-2006 "Chemical Resistant Industrial Plastic Molded Boots" and GB 20266-2006 "Chemical Resistant Rubber boots for the industry". Compared with GB 20265-2006 and GB 20266-2006, except for editorial changes, the main technical content changes as follows.
--- Added some terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);
--- Increased classification and grading (see Chapter 4);
--- Added technical requirements and related content for Class I products (see Chapter 5);
--- Revised the chemical resistance requirements and test methods (see 5.8 and 6.23, GB 20265-2006 3.8, GB 20266-2006 3.7);
--- Modified the content of the logo (see Chapter 7, GB 20265-2006 Chapter 5, GB 20266-2006 Chapter 5);
--- Added "Information provided by the manufacturer" (see Chapter 8).
1 Scope
This standard specifies the terms and definitions, classification and grading, technical requirements, test methods, identification and information.

3 Terms and definitions
The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
3.1 Degradation
Harmful changes in one or more properties of shoe materials due to contact with chemicals.These changes may include. peeling, swelling, breakage Cracking, embrittlement, discoloration, deformation, appearance change, hardening and softening.
3.2 Permeation
The process of chemicals passing through the shoe material at the molecular level.This process includes. adsorption of chemical molecules in contact with the (outer) surface of the material;
Diffusion of adsorbed molecules in a material; desorption of molecules from another (inner) surface of the material.
3.3 Test chemicals
Chemicals or mixtures of chemicals used to determine changes in transmission time and performance under laboratory conditions. The human body has an adverse effect.
