1 Scope

This standard specifies the method for testing slip shoes.

This standard applies to shoe soles having conventional type.

This standard does not apply to spikes, metal studs or the like shoes.

Note. refers to the use of conventional type injection, curing, adhesive, molding and other processes stitching soles.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.

Normal force normalforce

Plane and perpendicular to the test force acting on the shoe.

Friction frictionalforce

Parallel sliding shoe produced on the test plane and opposite to the direction of movement of force in the face.

Friction coefficient coefficientoffriction (CoF)

The ratio of the frictional force and the normal force.

Static contact time staticcontacttime

Test flat shoes and contact normal force reaches 50N begins to time required to move the shoe.

Measuring time measurementperiod

Friction measurement time under the conditions tested.

With or without a lubricant, for testing flat shoes skid resistance.
