This document complies with the provisions of GB/T 1.1-2020 "Standardization Work Guidelines Part

1.Structure and Drafting Rules of Standardization Documents". Drafting. This document supersedes GB/T 28409-2012 "Guidelines for the Selection, Use and Maintenance of Foot Protective Footwear (Boots) for Personal Protective Equipment" and is consistent with... Compared with GB/T 28409-2012, apart from structural adjustments and editorial changes, the main technical changes are as follows:

---Added terms and definitions (see Chapter 3);

---The classification of foot protection equipment has been changed (see Chapter 4, Chapter 3 in the.2012 edition);

---The general principles for the selection and use of foot protection shoes (boots), the selection principles based on human performance characteristics, and the selection guidelines have been removed. Selection process (see sections 4.1, 4.3~

3 Terms and Definitions

The terms and definitions defined in GB/T 12903, GB 20265, and GB 21148-2020 apply to this document.

4.1 Foot Protection Footwear

4.1.1 Classification The classification of foot protection footwear is shown in Table 1. Table

1 Classification of Foot Protection Footwear Code Name Classification Class I footwear refers to shoes made of leather and/or other materials, excluding shoes made entirely of rubber or polymer materials. Class II shoes are shoes made entirely of rubber (i.e., fully vulcanized) or entirely of polymeric materials (i.e., fully molded). A shoe with a mixed lower half made of Class II shoe materials and processes, and an upper half made of Class I shoe materials.

4.1.2 Style The design of foot protection footwear is shown in Figure 1. Index number explanation. A

4.2 Other Foot Protection Equipment Other foot protection equipment is classified as protective socks, protective shoe covers, etc., based on its protective performance, product form, or workplace.

5.1 General Requirements

5.1.1 Foot protection equipment shall comply with GB.20098 and the requirements of relevant product standards.

5.1.2 Whether the risk factors in the workplace are singular or a combination of multiple factors is an important basis for selecting foot protection equipment. For workplaces with multiple risk factors... In workplaces with multiple risk factors, the foot protection equipment selected should protect against multiple risk factors simultaneously.

Note. Appendix A provides examples of foot protection equipment selection.

5.2 Selection based on protection performance
