Scope
GB 19079.5-2005 is the English-translated version of 体育场所开放条件与技术要求 第5部分:轮滑场所.
GB 19079.5-2005 is Part 5 of the GB 19079 series on the operation conditions and technical requirements for sports venues, and specifies the basic conditions and basic technical requirements that roller sports places must meet before they are opened to the public; it applies to all kinds of roller sports places open to the public, indoor and outdoor.
It defines roller sports (speed and artistic roller skating, roller hockey, aggressive skating, skateboarding), the roller sports place and the roller sports instructor, and requires instructors to hold the relevant national qualification certificates.
Site requirements include a rink area of not less than 500 m2 for newly built indoor and for outdoor rinks, a level undamaged surface, obstacles padded with soft material to at least 2 m, a perimeter guard rail at least 1 m high with padded edges and corners, and separation of the skating area from rest and changing areas; equipment must carry a certificate of inspection conformity, public information signs must follow GB/T 10001.1, indoor air must meet GB/T 17093 and environmental hygiene GB 9668.
Safety provisions require posted rules and warnings, at least 1 roller sports instructor on site, accessible first-aid supplies, rental equipment in safe condition, identified staff and safety, rescue and maintenance systems.
