1 Scope

GB/T 46868-2025 is the Chinese national standard covering making a sports facility usable by older people - the approach and entrance, the changing rooms and their seating and grab rails, the flooring and lighting, the equipment suitable for older bodies and the staff able to supervise it. First edition, under the General Administration of Sport, and part of the same age-friendliness push as the metro, app and government service standards of this period. It was issued on 31 December 2025 and has been in force since 1 April 2026, as a first edition. The document is under the responsibility of the General Administration of Sport of China. This document establishes the general principles for age-friendly fitness venues, and stipulates the venue facilities, fitness equipment, services, and management of fitness venues. Requirements for age-appropriate care, etc. This document applies to the construction, service, and management of fitness and exercise venues suitable for the elderly.

3 Terms and Definitions

The following terms and definitions apply to this document.
