Foreword

This standard was drafted in accordance with the rules given in GB/T 1.1-2009. This standard replaces GB 15359-1994 "Standards for Lightships and Large Buoys in China Seas". Compared with GB 15359-1994, except for editorial The main technical changes outside the modification are as follows:

1 Scope

GB 15359 fixes the system of light vessels and large navigational buoys used in Chinese sea areas: the shape, colour, topmark and light character of each type, and what each combination means to a mariner reading it from the bridge. Uniformity here is the whole point - a buoy that departs from the system is worse than no buoy at all - and the standard is the reference for the authorities that lay the marks and the manufacturers that build them. Issued on 11 October 2021, in force since 1 May 2022, replacing GB 15359-1994.
