YY/T 0280-1995 is the English-translated version of 电热蒸馏水器.

YY/T 0280-1995 is a recommended Chinese medical device industry standard covering electrically heated water stills, the equipment that produces distilled water.

It sets the product classification, the technical requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules, as well as the provisions on marking, packaging, transport and storage.

It applies to electrically heated distillers whose distilled water is drawn by medical and health units. The standard quotes GB 191-1990, GB 2828-1987, GB 2829-1987, GB 5749-1985, GB 9706.1-1995, GB/T 14710-1993, YY 0076-1992, ZB C30003.1-1985 and ZB C30007-1986, and with the 1995 edition of the Chinese Pharmacopoeia.

It replaces WS 2-226-1977. Issued on 14 November 1995, it has applied since 1 May 1996.
