Scope

QC/T 589-1999 is the English-translated version of 厢式汽车产品质量检验评定方法.

QC/T 589-1999 sets the evaluation method used when van-type vehicles are inspected for product quality, and it is a recommended standard of the Chinese automobile industry.

It covers the sampling of the vehicles, the items to be tested, the test methods, the way each item is assessed and the comprehensive evaluation that draws the results together.

It governs the supervisory quality inspection of van-type vehicles, while van trailers are inspected by reference to it. The standard is applied with QC/T 900-1997, QC/T 449-1999 and QC/T 450-1999, under Chinese classification T52. Issued on 19 August 1999, it has applied since 1 January 2000.
