NB/T 20140-2012 is the English-translated version of 核动力厂厂址选择辐射防护技术规范.

NB/T 20140-2012 is the Chinese energy industry technical specification for radiation protection in the siting of nuclear power plants.

It identifies the factors that have to be weighed when a site is chosen, along with the matters bearing on source safety and on the characteristics of the plant and the site that a site radiation safety assessment has to establish and analyze.

It is written for new plants of the various water-cooled reactor types built on fixed land sites. The specification supersedes the nuclear industry standard EJ/T 636-1992 and is applied with GB 6249-2011, GB 14587-2011 and the safety guide HAD 102/12. Issued on 6 January 2012, it has applied since 6 April 2012.
