NB/T 20090-2012 is a recommended energy industry standard of China covering the preoperational tests of class 1E power systems in nuclear power plants. It fixes the basic requirements for checking the electrical characteristics of the equipment before operation and for the functional testing of the plant safety class power system.

Loads excluded, it reaches the safety medium voltage AC systems, the safety low voltage AC systems, the safety class DC systems, and the DC and AC uninterruptible supplies serving instrumentation and control important to safety.

Periodic tests run while the plant is operating and equipment qualification tests are outside it. It cites GB/T 12788, GB/T 13177, GB/T 14546, NB/T 20028.4, NB/T 20053, NB/T 20089 and EJ/T 625, and replaced EJ/T 519-1990. Issued on 6 January 2012, it has applied since 6 April 2012.
