NB/T 20077-2012 is a recommended Chinese energy industry standard on the handling and first evaluation of the records produced by nuclear power plant seismic instrumentation.

It sets criteria for acquiring, processing and storing those records promptly, and for the initial assessment that decides whether an earthquake at the site has exceeded the operating basis earthquake.

Land-based light water reactor plants are its field of use, and plants of other types may follow it for reference. It stands apart from the plant inspection carried out immediately after an earthquake, from the procedures for a safe and orderly shutdown, and from the long-term assessment of structure and equipment response data.

It quotes NB/T 20076-2012 and took over from EJ/T 821-1994. Issued on 6 January 2012, it has applied since 6 April 2012.
