1 Foreword
JB/T 9942-2012 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 24 May 2012 and has been in force since 1 November 2012.
It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 9942-1999.
2 Scope
This standard is the recommended Chinese machinery industry standard for angle grating encoders. It gives the terms and definitions, the structural types and basic parameters, the features and the requirements, the electrical safety performance and the environmental adaptability of these devices, together with test methods, inspection rules, marking and packaging. It replaces JB/T 9942-1999, which appeared under the title of grating angular displacement sensor. Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 191-2008, GB/T 2423.1-2008, GB 4208-2008, GB/T 5048-1999, GB/T 9969-2008, GB/T 13384-2008 and GB/T 17626.2-2006.
