1 Foreword
JB/T 8793-2010 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 11 February 2010 and has been in force since 1 July 2010.
It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8793-1998.
2 Scope
This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard for the electromagnetic starters used on industrial machinery. It sets out the general type, the parameters, the technical requirements, the test methods and inspection rules, and the main technical parameters and description that the manufacturer is to supply to the user. It applies to industrial machinery electromagnetic starters, described as serving mainly to control the direct starting and stopping of three-phase squirrel cage induction motors and their forward and reverse running, with protection against motor overload and phase failure.
