JB/T 8709-2014 was issued by MIIT on 9 July 2014 and has been in force since 1 November 2014.
It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8709-1998.
2 Scope
Heavy rolling mill housings are the subject of JB/T 8709-2014, the recommended Chinese machinery industry standard for the steel castings from which they are made. The document covers the ordering requirements, the manufacturing process, the technical requirements, the inspection rules and test methods, and the inspection and quality certificate together with marking and packaging. It is written for the cast housings of large rolling mills.
