JB/T 8595-2014 is the recommended Chinese machinery industry standard that classifies and grades the surface protection coating of machinery products. It groups the protective layers applied to a product surface by quality, sets out the grades, and gives the test methods and inspection rules that go with them. The grading is meant for machinery products used in tropical, damp tropical, cold northern, plateau and other such regions. The standard sits under the Chinese classification A21 and the international classification 19.020, and its tests follow GB/T 2423.1-2008, GB/T 2423.4-2008, GB/T 2423.17-2008 and GB/T 14522-2008. It replaces JB/T 8595-1997. Issued on 6 May 2014, it has applied since 1 October 2014.
