JB/T 8440-2013 is the Chinese machinery industry standard, recommended in status, that deals with the power switches fitted to electric heating appliances for household and similar use. It gives the terms and definitions used for such switches, their rating classification, the model designation and the marking they carry, together with the technical requirements and the test methods by which those requirements are checked. It quotes GB 2099.1-2008, GB/T 2828.1-2003, GB 4208-2008, GB 4706.1-2005, GB 14536.1-2008 and GB 15092.1-2010. The standard replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8440-1996. It was issued on 25 April 2013.
