JB/T 8340-2013 is the English-translated version of 碳化硅特种制品 重结晶碳化硅热电偶保护管.

JB/T 8340-2013 was issued by MIIT on 25 April 2013 and has been in force since 1 September 2013.
It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8340-1996.
2 Scope
This standard is a recommended machinery industry standard of China covering recrystallized silicon carbide thermocouple protection tubes, one of the special products made from silicon carbide. It fixes the product code and the marking, the basic dimensions, the technical requirements, the test methods, the inspection rules and the packaging. The tubes it describes are intended for service where the surface temperature does not exceed 1500 °C. Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 191-2008, GB/T 2997-2000, GB/T 3045-2003 and JB/T 2890-2008, and it replaces JB/T 8340-1996. The standard is classified J43 in the Chinese system and 25.100.70 in the international one.
