1 Foreword

JB/T 8310.1-2015 was issued by Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China on 10 October 2015 and has been in force since 1 March 2016.

It replaces the earlier edition JB/T 8310.1-1996.

It is one of 5 parts of the JB/T 8310 series.

2 Scope

This standard is a recommended Chinese machinery industry standard for splice closures used on optical cables in communications networks. Part 1 sets out the terminology and definitions, the product codes, the classification and designation of the products, the general technical requirements, the test methods and the inspection rules, together with marking, packaging, transport and storage. It covers all types of optical cable closure for communications use, while closures for submarine cable, for emergency cable and for butterfly cable fall outside it, and closures for optical fibre composite cable may be handled by reference to it. Among the standards it quotes are GB/T 3048.5-2007, YD/T 1024 and IEC 61073-1. It replaces JB/T 8310.1-1996.
